Abstract
BEGLIOMINI, Helio. Ethical analysis of urologists in São Paulo's state. Rev. Para. Med. [online]. 2006, vol.20, n.2, pp.29-33. ISSN 0101-5907.
PROPOSAL: ethical analysis of urologists in São Paulo‘s State. METHOD: data researches based on information harvested in the Regional Council of Medicine of São Paulo‘s State (Cremesp) during the last ten years, from janeiro/1995 to março/2005. RESULTS: although the accusations against doctor have increased 124,5% in this period, the complaints in the area of urology did not suffer great variations, with an annual average of 21, representing in this period just 0,88% from the total of the complaints in Cremesp, and very below the plastic surgery (3,3%), the fifth with the biggest number of complaints. Of the 213 received complaints, 50 (23,4%) were transformed in Discipline Processes. However, from this, was obtained 23 (46%) penalties; 15 (30%) acquittals and 12 (24%) meet themselves in process. the main accusations causes in the urological area are: negligence, inability and imprudence 14 (28%); medical publicity 13 (26%); surgical complications 7 (14%); medical remuneration 5 (10%); sterilization 4 (8%), among others. Penalties modalities were: confidential warning -7; confidential censorship -9; public censorship -3; suspension of the professional exercise for 30 days -3 and, definitive suspension of the professional exercise -1. CONCLUSION: Urology is a specialty with few complaints in Cremesp being most of them filed. However, the cases which were transformed in Discipline Processes, have great penalties chances (60,5%). At the end of the article the author conjecture about the possible causes of urology and of urologists have few complaints in Cremesp. It one wait that these data can equally contribute of preventive form, so that urology and urologists even have smaller ethical hindrances, what it will bring larger prestige and notoriety to the specialty and to the specialists.
