Abstract
LIMA, Fábio André Souto; LOPES, Cássia de Barros; CHAVES, Viviane Jacob and AZEVEDO, Valéria Nascimento da Gama. Nonimmune fetal hydrops associated with pre-eclampsia: case report. Rev. Para. Med. [online]. 2006, vol.20, n.2, pp.65-68. ISSN 0101-5907.
OBJECTIVE: describe a case of nonimmune hydrops fetalis associated with maternal pre-eclampsia and with tricuspid valve stenosis. METHOD: it was observed in Fundação Santa Casa de Misericórdia do Pará, a pregnant woman was 29 years old, within its 23rd gestational week, diagnosed by morphological ultrasonography and confirmed by blood testing, indirect Coombs test and fetal necropsy. The maternal hypertension was treated with metildopa, even though the pacient evolved to pre-eclampsia and it was necessary to be used MgSO4 and finally to interrupt the pregnancy. It was impossible to try an intrauterus approach leading to fetal death. CONCLUSION: the gravity of this pathology, though rare, demands a deeper knowledge to make it possible a critical evaluation of the hydropic fetus and avoid maternal-fetal mortality
