Abstract

OBJECTIVE: to identify to Index of corporal Mass and possible relations between real age and ideal age in the projection of the corporal image of adults obese, four living in Évora, Portugal and one in Belém, Brazil. METHOD: In the period of October of the 2006 in Belém and January June of 2007 in Évora we apply drawing of the body, open questionnaire and to evaluate Index of Corporal Mass. RESULTS: Brazil: woman 35 years, 108kg; 1.68; IMC: 38,3. Degree of obesities: II esteem Weights: lean: 57.6; fat person: 50.4; percentage of fat: 46.7. Ideal weights: minimum: 56,6; medium: 63.4 and maximum: 70.2. Évora: in case that I Woman, 28 years, 92 kg; 1.65; IMC: 33.8. Esteem weights: lean: 55.5; fat person: 36.5; percentage of fat: 39.6. Ideal weights: minimum: 54,6; medium: 61.1 and maximum: 67.7. Degree of obesities: I; case II: Woman, 34 years, 89 kg; 1.70, IMC: 30.8; Esteem weights: lean: 59; fat person: 30; percentage of fat: 33.8; Ideal weights: minimum: 57,9; medium: 64.9 and maximum: 71.8; Degree of obesities: I; case III: Woman, 25 years; 99 kg; 1.76; IMC: 31.6; Esteem weights: lean: 63.2; fat person: 34.8; percentage of fat: 35.5; Ideal weights: minimum: 62.1; medium: 69.5 and maximum: 77, case IV: Woman, 47 years. 97 kg; Height: 1.60; IMC: 37.9; Esteem weights: lean: 52.2; fat person: 44.8; percentage of fat: 46.2; Ideal weights: minimum: 51.3; medium: 57.5 and maximum: 63.6. CONCLUSION: The results indicate that all had projected in the drawing of the body the image with idealized age, that is, of years behind where they had lesser weight.
