According to the specialized literature, healthcare workers in countries with high prevalence of tuberculosis are exposed to higher risks of infection and of illness. The city of Rio de Janeiro has a high tuberculosis incidence. However, data on the risk of tuberculosis among the public servants in the Public Health system is incipient. There is a need to implement tuberculin surveys on this population and also to develop environmental and therapeutic preventive measures. This way, we will move ahead toward tuberculosis control
