This study presents results from the first epidemiological Tuberculosis survey held in the Epidemiological Surveillance Department of the Municipal Health Secretariat in Ribeirão Preto - São Paulo - Brazil for the period from 1990 to 2000, obtained by directly consults to the compulsory notification cards and electronic consultations were also realized by means of the Epi-Tb computer program from 1998 onwards, with a view to contributing to the understanding of the endemic process state of Tuberculosis and to the complementation of the municipal health information system. The information was compiled and geo-codified with the help of the MapInfo Professional software, version 6.5. Many cases were concentrated in the northeast region in the city, which consists the quarters of medium and low economical income. The results contribute to show the Tuberculosis spatial distribution in Ribeirão Preto, they also reinforce the space category as a methodological alternative to manage, to monitor and to evaluate the health actions by directing interventions to decrease the iniquities.
