Abstract

SCATENA, João Henrique G.  and  TANAKA, Oswaldo Yoshimi. Using the Hospital Information System (SIH-SUS) and the Outpatient Information System (SIA-SUS) to analyse the health decentralization in the State of Mato Grosso. Inf. Epidemiol. Sus [online]. 2001, vol.10, n.1, pp.19-30. ISSN 0104-1673.  http://dx.doi.org/10.5123/S0104-16732001000100003.

The health decentralization process increased the demand for information, by the municipalities, and has also stimulated the health information systems decentralization itself. In this context, the uses of the available information by the municipalities can be broaden beyond the limited and isolated frequent use of the data. The Mato Grosso State experience shows that it's possible, in a quantitative approach, to evaluate the health decentralization process, using the data provided by specific health information systems (SIA-SUS and SIH-SUS), which allow the analyses of health services funding, production and resolutivity. These elements are also important in the process of setting hypothesis about the health care models that have been implemented
