Abstract

REZENDE, Marcelo Carvalho de et al. Instructions for bioassays evaluating spraying insecticide space applications. Epidemiol. Serv. Saúde [online]. 2004, vol.13, n.3, pp.185-190. ISSN 1679-4974.  http://dx.doi.org/10.5123/S1679-49742004000300005.

Space spraying using insecticides has been a valuable tool to reduce vector densities for control services in emergency situations. Due to the possibility that many variables could interfere with the efficacy of space application of insecticides by vector control programs, a strategy of bioassay use is suggested to evaluate spraying effectiveness. The main objective of this paper is to propose standardization of the biological tests of vector control programs to permit the evaluation of activity and to compare results in different areas, making this information available for use by vector control services.
