This study aims to trace the professionals profile and the work organization in the quotidian of the Family Health Program (PSF) through a quali-quantitative research with application of semi-structured questionnaires directed to professionals of the family health team from the Municipality of Teixeiras, Minas Gerais State, Brazil. Most of commu-nitarian health agents (ACS) showed complete high school level (55.6%), and only ACS received some kind of training. The wage was considered reasonable by doctors (66.7%), nurses (66.76%), ACS (39.0%), however it was low by most of nursing assistants (66.7%). Transportation was mentioned as main difficulty to realize the work. This research let us point out questions referring to work organization and professional qualification of ACS, as real obstacle to a more adequate implantation of this strategy according to their orientated principles, which have community and family as focus of attention.
