This paper describes a step toward consolidating actions taken aiming at eliminating tuberculosis in Vila Rosário. In this phase (started September 2005), actions were based on active search for tuberculosis, where parameters were defined to regulate agent's working areas and a new software GESTÃO (QTROP-VR) was designed specifically for controlling the attendance to patients. The analysis of complementary social data regarding food, level of education, and others, on persons presenting a productive cough for more than 3 weeks and tuberculosis patients, in the area of the "grand" Vila Rosário, allowed for a reinforcement of the thesis relating (disseminated) tuberculosis and misery.
