CAMPOS, Layna de Cássia Oliveira et al. Socioepidemiological profile of women affected by ectopic pregnancy treated at a public hospital of reference in high-risk pregnancy in Belém, Pará State, Brazil. Rev Pan-Amaz Saude [online]. 2012, vol.3, n.4, pp.35-42. ISSN 2176-6215.

One of the pathologies responsible for including a high-risk pregnancy is the ectopic pregnancy (EP). It is considered an EP when the implementation and the egg development occurs outside of its normal location, namely in the cavity of the uterine body. Therefore, the aim of this study was to identify the socioepidemiological profile of women affected by ectopic pregnancy. For data analysis we opted for a study of quantitative and descriptive approach. Our sample has a total of 15 women, we noted that the socioeconomic factors, education level, color, family income and age are elements that can be strongly related to the influence for these women by the patology in question. Gynecological factors as the presence of pelvic infectious disease, urinary tract infection, discharge and failure in visiting the gynecologist are convenient to the involvement of EP. The obstetric history also influences this disease, according to the literature, abortion is a predisposing factor for EP It was concluded that 100% of women that did not know that they were pregnant, they did not start prenatal care and therefore could not be diagnosed early, all women were admitted in the hospital with ruptured EP and had to perform exploratory laparotomy. Finally, it is believed that the results of this study confirmed that the precaution to this patology should be improved by of the attention to women in primary health care efficiently and effectively.
