Suicide is a serious problem of global public health and is the second main cause of death among people from 15 to 29 years old. The aim of this study was to evaluate the incidence and epidemiological profile of suicide in children and adolescents in Pará State, Brazil from 2010 to 2013. It is a transversal, descriptive and quantitative study. Data were obtained from the Department of Health Information of the Unified Health System. The results showed 135 cases of suicide in children and adolescents in the State and the Municipality of Belém is the most incident (12.5%) and cases increased 31.6% from 2010 to 2013. Most of suicides (77.8%) happened with adolescents from 15 to 19 years old, predominantly in male. The most common places of occurrence of suicides were home (58.1%), hospital (18.5%), and public road (8.9%). The main method of committing suicide was intentional self-harm by hanging. Data showed that in Pará, suicide increased substantially among children and adolescents.
