OBJETIVO:  Relatar e analisar ações extensionistas desenvolvidas pelo Laboratório de Anatomia dos Animais Domésticos e Silvestres (LAADS) da Universidade Federal do Pará, entre 2010 e 2025, que utilizaram peças anatômicas, incluindo exemplares taxidermizados de fauna doméstica e silvestre, como ferramentas de educação ambiental.  MATERIAIS E MÉTODOS:  Foram analisados dados obtidos a partir de questionários (n &#8776; 500) aplicados ao final das ações desenvolvidas pelo LAADS no município paraense de Castanhal e regiões adjacentes, que compreenderam visitas monitoradas em escolas públicas urbanas e rurais, museu itinerante e participação em feiras e exposições científicas e comunitárias.  RESULTADOS:  Mais de 90% dos respondentes nunca haviam participado de aulas práticas de ciências antes das intervenções. Após as atividades, 85% a 88% relataram uma mudança positiva na percepção sobre ciência e universidade, enquanto 92% reconheceram a relação entre conservação ambiental e preservação da fauna. O contato direto com as peças foi considerado essencial por aproximadamente 90% dos respondentes, e 79% demonstraram maior interesse por carreiras nas ciências biológicas.  CONCLUSÃO:  O uso de peças anatômicas mostrou-se uma estratégia eficaz para a formação de uma consciência ambiental crítica, sobretudo entre crianças e jovens, configurando-se como ação indispensável em tempos de crise climática.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The climate emergency poses significant challenges to Amazonian biodiversity, demanding educational strategies that foster awareness and behavioral change.  OBJECTIVE:  This study aimed to report and analyze outreach activities developed by the Laboratory of Domestic and Wild Animal Anatomy (LAADS) of the Federal University of Pará between 2010 and 2025, which used anatomical specimens, including taxidermized specimens of domestic and wild fauna, as tools for environmental education.  MATERIALS AND METHODS:  Data were obtained from questionnaires (n &#8776; 500) applied at the end of LAADS activities conducted in the municipality of Castanhal, Pará State, Brazil, and surrounding regions. These actions included guided school visits, a traveling museum, and participation in scientific and community fairs and exhibitions.  RESULTS:  More than 90% of respondents had never taken part in practical science classes before the interventions. After the activities, 85% to 88% reported a positive change in their perception of science and university, while 92% recognized the link between environmental conservation and wildlife preservation. Direct contact with the specimens was considered essential by approximately 90% of respondents, and 79% reported greater interest in pursuing careers in the Biological Sciences.  CONCLUSION:  The use of anatomical specimens proved to be an effective strategy for fostering critical environmental awareness, especially among children and young people, representing an essential educational action in times of climate crisis.]]></p></abstract>
