Métodos: estudo descritivo de série temporal; foram calculadas taxas de mortalidade por leucemias, padronizadas por idade; utilizou-se regressão de Prais-Winsten.  Resultados: as taxas de mortalidade por leucemias reduziram-se de 2,73 para 1,58 por 100 mil habitantes menores de 20 anos, no período estudado (variação percentual anual de -7,06%: IC95% -8,61;-5,49), com diferença entre capitais; houve redução na magnitude em todas as faixas etárias - 0 a 4 (-9,17%: IC95% -11,58;-6,69), 5 a 9 (-9,27%: IC95% -11,90;-6,56), 10 a 14 (-4,86%: IC95% -6,69;-3,00) e 15 a 19 anos (-3,77%: IC95% -5,22;-2,31).  Conclusão: houve tendência de redução na taxa de mortalidade por leucemia em crianças e adolescentes, embora desigual entre as capitais, indicando a necessidade de medidas para minimizar diferenças regionais.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen  Objetivo: analizar la tendencia temporal de mortalidad por leucemia pediátrica en las capitales brasileñas, entre 1980 y 2015.  Métodos: estudio descriptivo de serie temporal, sobre tasas de mortalidad por leucemia en menores de 20 años de edad (modelo Prais-Winsten).  Resultados: las tasas de mortalidad por leucemia se redujo de 2,73 a 1,58 por 100 mil habitantes menores de 20 años, en el período estudiado (variación porcentual anual de -7,06% IC95% -8,61;-5,49), con diferencia entre capitales; se observó una reducción en la magnitud en todas las edades - 0 a 4 (-9,17%: IC95% -11,58;-6,69), 5 a 9 (-9,27%: IC95% -11,90;-6,56), 10 a 14 (-4,86%: IC95% -6,69;-3,00) y 15 a 19 años (-3,77%: IC95% -5,22;-2,31). <abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Objective: to analyze the temporal trend of leukemia mortality in children and adolescents under 20 years old, in Brazilian state capitals and Federal District, between 1980 and 2015.  Methods: this was a descriptive time series study; age-standardized leukemia mortality rates were calculated; the Prais-Winsten regression model was used.  Results: leukemia mortality rates fell from 2.73 to 1.58 per 100,000 inhabitants aged under 20 years in the period studied (annual percentage variation of -7.06%: 95%CI -8.61;5.49), with differences between capitals; there was a reduction in magnitude in all age groups - 0-4 years (9.17%: 95%CI -11.58;-6.69), 5-9 years (-9,27%: 95%CI -11.90;-6.56), 10-14 years (-4.86%: 95%CI -6.69;-3.00) and 15-19 years (-3.77%: 95%CI -5.22;-2.31).
