Resultados: 55% das amostras analisadas foram positivas para carbamatos, 25% para organofosforados e 5% para cumarínicos, e encontradas 15% da associação carbamato e organofosforado. Were founds 15% of carbamate and    organophosphate associations.    <br>   <b>CONCLUSION:</b> the treatment and laboratorial evaluation of poisoning for    those compounds require differentiated procedures.</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana"><b>Key words:</b> organophosphate, carbamate,    cumarins and rodenticides.</font></p> <hr size="1" noshade>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><font size="3" face="Verdana"><b>INTRODU&Ccedil;&Atilde;O</b></font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Os raticidas ocupam posi&ccedil;&atilde;o de    destaque dentre os praguicidas dom&eacute;sticos utilizados<sup>1,2</sup>.</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Um raticida ideal apresenta as seguintes caracter&iacute;sticas:    baixo custo, inocuidade para o ambiente e o homem, f&aacute;cil manipula&ccedil;&atilde;o,    aus&ecirc;ncia de susceptibilidade diferenciada para os membros da col&ocirc;nia,    n&atilde;o ocasionar intoxica&ccedil;&atilde;o imediata do roedor para n&atilde;o    alertar a col&ocirc;nia para presen&ccedil;a de agentes t&oacute;xicos no alimento,    possuir caracter&iacute;sticas atraentes e apetitosas para os roedores, dentre    outras<sup>1</sup>.</font></p>     ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Nesse sentido, os compostos que mais se aproximam    das caracter&iacute;sticas mencionadas s&atilde;o os cumar&iacute;nicos, cujas    concentra&ccedil;&otilde;es nas formula&ccedil;&otilde;es comerciais variam    de 0,005% a 2%<sup>3</sup>.</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Os casos de intoxica&ccedil;&atilde;o aguda resultantes    da ingest&atilde;o acidental ou deliberada de praguicidas granulados, com fins    raticidas, denominados &quot;chumbinho&quot;, pelo aspecto s&oacute;lido de    colora&ccedil;&atilde;o cinza escuro, semelhantes a proj&eacute;teis esf&eacute;ricos    de chumbo, s&atilde;o comuns nas estat&iacute;sticas dos Centros de Informa&ccedil;&otilde;es    Toxicol&oacute;gicas e Institutos M&eacute;dicos Legais no Brasil<sup>4,5</sup>.</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">No fim da d&eacute;cada passada, creditava-se    aos inseticidas carbamatos a maioria desses epis&oacute;dios de intoxica&ccedil;&atilde;o    aguda. Contudo, na evolu&ccedil;&atilde;o cl&iacute;nica de alguns pacientes,    foram observados sinais e sintomas, bem como achados laboratoriais, n&atilde;o    condizentes com os dados dealiteratura referentes &agrave; exposi&ccedil;&atilde;o    a este praguicida<sup>4, 5, 6, 7 e 8</sup>.</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Portanto, &eacute; fundamental a identifica&ccedil;&atilde;o    qu&iacute;mica dos granulados utilizados com fins raticidas, na cidade de Bel&eacute;m,    objetivando auxiliar no correto diagn&oacute;stico e tratamento do paciente    intoxicado.</font></p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><font size="3" face="Verdana"><b>OBJETIVO</b></font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Caracterizar a composi&ccedil;&atilde;o qu&iacute;mica    dos raticidas granulados comercializados na regi&atilde;o metropolitana de Bel&eacute;m    - Par&aacute;.</font></p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><font size="3" face="Verdana"><b>M&Eacute;TODO</b></font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana"><b>Amostras</b></font></p>     ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Adquiridas, em feiras livres e outros estabelecimentos    comerciais da regi&atilde;o metropolitana de Bel&eacute;m, 120 amostras de raticidas    granulados, no per&iacute;odo de janeiro de 2004 a dezembro de 2005.</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana"><b>Procedimento</b></font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Dissolvidas as amostras em &aacute;lcool met&iacute;lico    P.A.(Merck<sup>&reg;</sup>) de modo a obter concentra&ccedil;&atilde;o de 1%.    A seguir, efetuou-se triagem por cromatografia em camada delgada, utilizando-se    placas cromatogr&aacute;ficas de s&iacute;lica Gel G, (Merck<sup>&reg;</sup>).    A fase m&oacute;vel utilizada foi composta por n-Hexano : Acetona (4:1). Ap&oacute;s    desenvolvimento cromatogr&aacute;fico, as placas foram visualizadas ao ultravioleta    e reveladas com solu&ccedil;&atilde;o aquosa de cloreto de pal&aacute;dio a    1% ou solu&ccedil;&atilde;o aquosa de &aacute;cido hexacloroplat&iacute;nico    a 1%. Para efeito de compara&ccedil;&atilde;o, aplicaram-se juntamente com as    amostras, solu&ccedil;&otilde;es padr&otilde;es a 1% em metanol de praguicidas    organofosforados, carbamatos e cumar&iacute;nicos<sup>9</sup>. Para avalia&ccedil;&atilde;o    estat&iacute;stica dos resultados foi empregado o teste do Qui-quadrado, com    n&iacute;vel de signific&acirc;ncia de 5%.</font></p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><font size="3" face="Verdana"><b>RESULTADOS</b></font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Os resultados dos testes de triagem para caracteriza&ccedil;&atilde;o    qu&iacute;mica dos raticidas granulados comercializados na cidade de Bel&eacute;m,    encontram-se descritos na <a href="#tab1">Tabela I</a>.</font></p>     <p><a name="tab1"></a></p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p align="center"><img src="/img/revistas/rpm/v20n4/4a04t1.gif"></p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Comprovou-se diferen&ccedil;a estat&iacute;stica    significativa (p&lt;0,05) na porcentagem dos casos positivos dos diversos praguicidas    analisados.</font></p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><font size="3" face="Verdana"><b>DISCUSS&Atilde;O</b></font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Dentre as v&aacute;rias formula&ccedil;&otilde;es    de praguicidas, os granulados se destacam, pois podem ser aplicados juntamente    com adubos e fertilizantes que atuam como carreadores, protegendo as ra&iacute;zes    e sementes em via de germina&ccedil;&atilde;o, dos insetos e suas larvas<sup>1,3</sup>.</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Os dados apresentados na <a href="#tab1">Tabela    1</a> caracterizam os inibidores revers&iacute;veis e irrevers&iacute;veis das    colinesterases e os anticoagulantes, como os grupos qu&iacute;micos constituintes    dos granulados utilizados como raticidas dom&eacute;sticos na cidade de Bel&eacute;m.</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Portanto, o tratamento com sulfato de atropina    &eacute; totalmente eficaz em apenas 55% dos casos de intoxica&ccedil;&atilde;o,    relacionados aos carbamatos, sendo necess&aacute;ria a administra&ccedil;&atilde;o    de oximas, como a pralidoxima, no in&iacute;cio da terapia, objetivando evitar    o envelhecimento da enzima<sup>10, 11</sup>. Na pr&aacute;tica, a necessidade    da administra&ccedil;&atilde;o das oximas, &eacute; observada quando n&atilde;o    h&aacute; aumento da atividade enzim&aacute;tica das colinesterases nas 12 horas    seguintes a administra&ccedil;&atilde;o de sulfato de atropina ao paciente,    o que indica a intoxica&ccedil;&atilde;o por organofosforados<sup>12, 13</sup>.</font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Por outro lado, &eacute; marcante a necessidade    do acompanhamento do coagulograma do paciente intoxicado, para avaliar a necessidade    da ado&ccedil;&atilde;o de condutas para redu&ccedil;&atilde;o da hemorragia,    com vistas &agrave; possibilidade de intoxica&ccedil;&atilde;o por um derivado    cumar&iacute;nico<sup>13</sup>.</font></p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><font size="3" face="Verdana"><b>CONCLUS&Atilde;O</b></font></p>     <p><font size="2" face="Verdana">Dentre os granulados utilizados como raticidas    na regi&atilde;o metropolitana de Bel&eacute;m, os carbamatos foram os compostos    mais encontrados (55%).</font></p>     ]]></body>
