Métodos: estudo descritivo que apresenta o processo de integração de dados de acidentes de trânsito, do ano de 2012, de múltiplas instituições, pareados com o Sistema de Informações sobre Mortalidade (SIM) e o Sistema de Informações Hospitalares (SIH).  Resultados: integração de dados de múltiplas instituições, criação de uma lista única de vítimas de trânsito e reclassificação de acidentes como graves ou fatais. Houve um incremento médio de 87,0% em relação ao total de vítimas contabilizadas antes da utilização do processo.  Conclusão: os resultados sugerem que o Processo de Integração de Dados (PID) fornece bons resultados e pode ser adotado por outras cidades que necessitam de informações confiáveis sobre acidentes de trânsito para subsidiar o planejamento, monitoramento e avaliação das ações de segurança viária.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen  Objetivo: describir el proceso de gestión de integración de múltiples bases de datos de accidentes de tránsito aplicado en cinco capitales piloto del Proyecto Vida en el Tráfico.  Metodología: estudio descriptivo utilizando datos de las capitales, referentes al ano de 2012, y pareadas con datos del Sistema de Información de Mortalidad y Sistema de Información Hospitalaria.  Resultados: integración de datos de múltiples instituciones, creación de una lista única de víctimas de tránsito y reclasificación de accidentes como graves o fatales. También hubo un incremento medio del 87% en relación al número total de víctimas contabilizadas antes de la utilización del proceso.  Conclusión: los resultados sugieren que el Proceso de Integración de Datos proporciona buenos resultados y puede ser adoptado por otras ciudades que necesitan información confiable sobre accidentes de tránsito para subsidiar la planificación, monitoreo y evaluación de las acciones de seguridad vial.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Objective: to describe the management process for multiple traffic accident database integration applied in five state capital cities piloting the Life in the Traffic.  Methods: This is a descriptive study presenting the integration of traffic accident data for the year 2012 provided by multiple institutions and linked with data from the Mortality Information System Information and the Hospital Information System.  Results: integration of data from multiple institutions, creation of a single list of traffic accident victims and reclassification of accidents as serious or fatal. There was also an average increase of 87% in relation to the total number of victims counted before the use of the integration process.  Conclusion: the results suggest that the Data Integration Process provides good results and can be adopted by other cities that need reliable information about traffic accidents to inform the planning, monitoring and evaluation of road safety actions.]]></p></abstract>
