MATERIAIS E MÉTODOS:  Para a microscopia óptica, selecionaram-se 12 ovos, logo após a postura, observados através da lupa estereoscópica para visualização das estruturas e aferição das medidas. Para a morfometria, utilizou-se a escala em lâmina micrométrica e, posteriormente, analisada por um software, visando obtenção de média e desvio padrão. Para a seleção das áreas e observações de suas estruturas, selecionaram-se 10 ovos, que foram preparados, metalizados com ouro e levados à MEV. O corpo do ovo foi dividido em três áreas, com a contagem de perfurações em três células de cada área, visando minimizar a fração de erros de contagem e da mensuração de estruturas.  RESULTADOS:  Os ovos mediam, em média, 1,51 mm de comprimento e 0,89 mm de largura, corpo com exocório no primeiro terço da extensão do ovo apresentando células poligonais, variando entre pentagonais e hexagonais. As células do corpo apresentaram perfurações esparsas, variando entre 21-35 orifícios em cada célula. Opérculo levemente proeminente formado por células poligonais abauladas.  CONCLUSÃO:  A análise dos ovos revelou que T. pintodiasi mostra similaridades estruturais com Triatoma circummaculata, porém a configuração do primeiro terço do exocório é uma característica representativa importante e pode servir de base para estudos mais aprofundados sobre essas espécies.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT  OBJECTIVE:  To increase the knowledge of the morphology of the eggs of Triatoma pintodiasi by optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), allowing the visualization of characteristics that can be patterns for characterization and identification of this species.  MATERIALS AND METHODS:  For the optical microscopy, 12 eggs were selected shortly after to be laid, and observed through the stereoscopic magnifying glass for viewing the anatomical structures and the assessment of measurements. For the morphometry, the micrometric scale was used, and later analyzed by a software for medium leakage and standard deviation. For the selection of the areas and observations of their structures, 10 eggs were selected, prepared, metalized with gold and analyzed by SEM. The egg body was divided into three areas, with the counting of perforations in three cells of each area, aiming to minimize the fraction of errors of counting and measurement of structures.  RESULTS:  The median values for the eggs were 1.51 mm in length and 0.89 mm in width, body with exocory in the first third of the extension of the egg presenting polygonal cells, varying pentagonal and hexagonal. Body cells showed sparse perforations ranging from 21 to 35 holes in each cell. Lightly prominent opérculo formed by bulged polygonal cells.  CONCLUSION:  The analysis showed structural similarities between T. pintodiasi and Triatoma circummaculata, but the configuration of the first third of the exochorium is an important feature and can be the basis for further studies on these species.]]></p></abstract>

MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS:  Para la microscopía óptica, se seleccionaron 12 huevos, enseguida a la postura, observados a través de lupa estereoscópica para visualización de las estructuras y comparación de las medidas. Para la morfometría, se utilizó la escala en lámina micrométrica y, posteriormente, fue analizada por un software, con el objetivo de obtener la media y el desvío estándar. Para la selección de las áreas y observaciones de sus estructuras, se seleccionaron 10 huevos, que fueron preparados, metalizados con oro y llevad a la MEB. El cuerpo del huevo se dividió en tres áreas, con perforaciones en tres células de cada área, para minimizar la fracción de errores de conteo y de la mensuración de estructuras.  RESULTADOS:  Los huevos medían, promedio, 1,51 mm de largo y 0,89 mm de ancho, cuerpo con el exocorion en el primer tercio de la extensión del huevo presentando células poligonales, variando entre pentagonales y hexagonales. Las células del cuerpo presentaron perforaciones esparcidas, variando entre 21-35 orificios en cada célula. Opérculo levemente prominente formado por células poligonales arqueadas.  CONCLUSIÓN:  El análisis de los huevos reveló que T. pintodiasi demuestra similitudes estructurales con Triatoma circummaculata, sin embargo, la configuración del primer tercio del exocorion es una característica representativa importante y puede servir de base para estudios más profundos sobre esas especies.]]></p></abstract>
