<self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.iec.gov.br/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2176-62232022000100013&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.iec.gov.br/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2176-62232022000100013&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://scielo.iec.gov.br/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2176-62232022000100013&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[RESUMO  OBJETIVOS:  Analisar a soroprevalência das infecções pelos vírus das hepatites A (VHA), B (VHB) e C (VHC) e avaliar a situação vacinal para o VHB de indivíduos atendidos na Unidade de Referência Especializada em Doenças Infecciosas e Parasitárias Especiais, em Belém, estado do Pará, Brasil.  MATERIAIS E MÉTODOS:  Foram coletados dados epidemiológicos dos participantes relacionados às hepatites virais, por meio de questionário semiestruturado, e amostras de sangue para análise dos marcadores sorológicos anti-VHA total e IgM, HBsAg, anti-HBs, anti-HBc total e anti-VHC e testes de biologia molecular nas amostras anti-VHC reagente ou inconclusiva.  RESULTADOS:  Entre as 299 amostras testadas, obteve-se prevalência de anti-VHA total de 64,9%, sendo 42,6% do sexo feminino e 57,4% do masculino. Não foi detectada amostra reagente para anti-VHA IgM. O HBsAg foi reagente em 1,7%, enquanto o anti-HBs/anti-HBc em 5,0%, o anti-HBc isolado em 2,0% e o anti-HBs isolado em 32,4%. Quanto ao VHC, 0,7% das amostras apresentaram anti-VHC reagente. Quanto aos fatores de risco, história de cirurgia prévia (63,9%) foi o mais prevalente.  CONCLUSÃO:  Observou-se alta prevalência para VHA e baixa soroprevalência de infecção pelo VHB. Porém, detectou-se alta porcentagem de pacientes susceptíveis à infecção pelo VHB, contrastando com o fato de existir vacina para a prevenção contra o vírus disponível gratuitamente pelo Sistema Único de Saúde. Em relação ao VHC, houve baixa soroprevalência do anti-VHC. É importante que haja intensificação nas campanhas de vacinação contra esses vírus e de conscientização e promoção à saúde com ênfase em bons hábitos de higiene pessoal e alimentar.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT  OBJECTIVES:  To analyze the seroprevalence of hepatitis A (HAV), B (HBV), and C (HCV) virus infections and to evaluate the HBV vaccination status of individuals treated at the Specialized Reference Unit for Special Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, in Belém, Pará State, Brazil.  MATERIALS AND METHODS:  Epidemiological data related to viral hepatitis were gathered from participants through a semi-structured questionnaire, and blood samples were collected for analysis of serological markers anti-HAV total and IgM, HBsAg, anti-HBs, anti-HBc total, and anti-HCV and molecular biology tests on reactive or inconclusive anti-HCV samples.  RESULTS:  Among the 299 samples tested, there was a prevalence of anti-HAV total of 64.9%, of which 42.6% were female and 57.4% male. A reactive sample for anti-HAV IgM was not detected. HBsAg was reactive in 1.7%, while anti-HBs/anti-HBc in 5.0%, isolated anti-HBc in 2.0%, and isolated anti-HBs in 32.4%. As for HCV, 0.7% of the samples showed reactive anti-HCV. As for risk factors, a history of previous surgery (63.9%) was the most prevalent.  CONCLUSION:  There was a high prevalence of HAV and a low seroprevalence of HBV infection. However, a high percentage of patients susceptible to HBV infection was detected, in contrast to the fact that there is a vaccine for the prevention of the virus available free of charge through the Brazilian Unified Health System. Regarding HCV, there was a low seroprevalence of anti-HCV. It is essential to intensify campaigns of vaccination against these viruses and of health awareness and promotion, emphasizing good personal and food hygiene habits.]]></p></abstract>
